Four Mahoning Valley fire departments get federal funds

Four Mahoning Valley fire departments will receive a total of $360,681 in federal funds to purchase emergency response equipment, fire protection equipment, vehicles and training

U.S. Sen. George V. Voinovich, a Republican from Cleveland, and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, announced the funding awards today.

Fire departments receiving funding from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and the amounts they’re getting are:

Warren, $214,020.

Berlin Township, $88,051.

Milton Township, $32,960.

Springfield Township, $25,650.
