Think you have it bad? Not as bad as a Cincy apartment complex
CINCINNATI (AP) — Residents have protested outside three Cincinnati apartment buildings where tenants say they’ve had no electricity for a week.
Some of the 150 people living in the buildings in the city’s Avondale neighborhood have complained to City Hall and to organizations including the NAACP. During Monday’s protest, one frustrated tenant hung a bed sheet outside her apartment with a message saying residents have no power while their landlord is at a hotel.
Joe Lentine, one of the owners of the buildings, says he can’t afford to pay an electric bill in the tens of thousands of dollars. He says much of it was left by the previous owner.
A Duke Energy representative says the company is working to resolve the issue.
