The Youngstown State men’s golf team placed 22 in a 24-team field at the Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational.

The Penguins finished with a three-round total of 909 carding rounds of 298, 298 and 313.

Murray State won the Invitational with an 850.

Ryan Stocke of YSU carded a seven-over par three-round 220 (73-74-73) to tie for 46th place.

Other individual finishers for the Penguins were Joe Santisi who was 78th with a 224, Spencer Sulzener who finished with a 233, Tim Morrow who carded a 237 and Michael Lower had a 239.

The K.O. Drugs High School Boxing Tournament will resume with 30 bouts on Friday at 7 p.m. at the ITAM Banquet Center.

Alan Dellinger (Open Stocks), Mikey Hay (Stars Mod Lites) and Mike Scharba (Hobby Stocks) took home the top prize Saturday in their respective divisions at Sharon Speedway.

With 60 cars filling the pit area for the third annual Stock Car Spectacular, Dellinger had the fast time in qualifying, pacing the 3‚Ñ8 mile oval at 18.479 and picking up the Texas Connection bonus.

Cancellara wins Paris-Roubaix for 2nd time

ROUBAIX, France

Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland won the Paris-Roubaix on Sunday, capturing the race for a second time and claiming his second victory in a one-day classic in eight days.

Cancellara won by two minutes after dominating a field that included three-time winner Tom Boonen of Belgium. The Swiss rider, who won the 2006 Paris-Roubaix, finished first in the Tour of Flanders last Sunday.

Thor Hushovd of Norway was second and Juan Antonio Flecha of Spain was third, also two minutes behind. They were followed by Roger Hammond and Boonen.

Tola and Bayisa take Paris Marathon

PARIS

Ethiopia’s Tadesse Tola and Atsede Bayisa won the Paris Marathon on Sunday.

Tola finished the men’s race in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds while defending champion Bayisa dominated the women’s race in 2:22:04, breaking the race record of 2:23:05 set in 2002 by Marleen Renders of Belgium.

Tola pulled away from Alfred Kering of Kenya on the uphill section with less than 3 miles to go. Kering held off a late charge from compatriot Wilson Kipsang to take second place.

Portsmouth beats Tottenham, advances

WEMBLEY, England

Portsmouth reached the FA Cup final, scoring twice in extra time Sunday to beat Tottenham 2-0 in a big upset. The victory came a day after the 2008 winners were relegated from the Premier League in a season in which crippling debt almost put the club out of business.

Frederic Piquionne broke the deadlock in the ninth minute of extra time. Kevin-Prince Boateng added a penalty kick 18 minutes later.

Canada wins world curling championship

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy

Canada won the curling world championships Sunday by beating Norway 9-3 in the final.

Kevin Koe registered a double takeout to clinch the match for the Canadians, ending the game in eight ends.

Canada was quickly ahead, taking a 3-0 lead after the first end, and it went up 5-1 at the end of the third before staying in control until it sealed victory.

Scotland won the bronze medal with a 6-4 victory over the United States.
