A kind word for librarians
A kind word for librarians
Tuesday, during National Li- brary Week, schools and libraries across the country will celebrate the valuable contribution of their staff members on the second annual National Library Workers Day.
With this day quickly approaching, I have been remembering those librarians and clerks who have shown my family kindness, caring, thoughtfulness and dedicated service over the years. We have become friends with numerous library staff members by visiting many different branches.
These people go above and beyond with smiles on their faces despite the recent changes they have had to endure. What a great feeling to be greeted by staff members who can call you by name and are happy to see you.
I am thrilled that Mahoning County voters recognized the vital importance of the library. At a time when families and businesses needed to drastically adjust their budgets, we supported our county-wide libraries. Mr. Sears, library director, and his staff have been skillfully and diligently working to provide needed services. We must continue to “Keep the Lights On.”
Please take a moment the week of April 11-17 to thank our library workers for the services they provide and wish them a heartfelt Happy Library Week.
