Winners to present poems at mall gallery Tuesday

The Pig Iron Literary & Art Works national poetry month contest winners will present their poems at a public reading at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Art Outreach Gallery in the Eastwood Mall.

Thirteen winners were selected:

Carole L. Babyak of Warren for “Blue Jay Feathers.”

Peggy Sue Byrnes of Warren for “Uterus.”

The Rev. Carole A. Long Damschroder of Canfield for “First Born.”

Virginia F. Elser of Boardman for “Cathedral.”

Valerie Esker of Youngstown for “Judging Mama.”

Peter J. Kautsky of Sharon for “Crucifixion.”

Jeanette Lelesch of Leavittsburg for “I Remember.”

Joseph Mondora of Poland for “She Came Too Early.”

Terry Murcko of Youngstown for “Teacher.”

Kaitlyn Powell of Newton Falls for “The Feelings.”

James T. Saker of Warren for “Quiet Moment.”

Melodee Titus of Youngstown for “Allegheny Waterfowl Management Area.”

Gayle M. Wanamaker of Austintown for “A Tunnel of Sensations.”

The winning poems will be on display at the gallery for the month of April. The gallery is in the Sears and Macy’s concourse of the mall.
