Senior citizens to perform in Follies
CORTLAND
The 20th anniversary of SCOPE Senior Follies, “Memories Are Made of This,” will be presented at 7 p.m. April 17 and 2 p.m. April 18 at Lakeview High School, 300 Hillman Drive.
The show will include a wide variety of entertainment ranging from line and tap dances and the tango and mambo to a Rachmaninoff Concerto piano solo.
There will be live drum and keyboard music, a choral group and soloists.
Among the performers will be Margaret Kearney Ziegler, 82, a 20-year follies veteran who has performed around the world since early childhood, and drummer John Schmidt, who will perform his original and recently recorded number, “This Is Our America, Heart and Soul.”
The event will showcase the talents of older adults and raise funds for the many services SCOPE provides for the homebound throughout Trumbull County and at senior centers in Cortland, Champion, Howland, Lordstown, Niles and Warren.
Admission is $10, and tickets will be available at the door.
