Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will sell dahlia tubers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Garden in Mill Creek MetroParks.
Local growers provide the wide variety of quality tubers sold at the annual event.
The society, an affiliate of the Midwest Dahlia Conference and the American Dahlia Society, will also conduct a regular monthly meeting at 2 p.m. at the center.
Baby animal shower
Mill Creek MetroParks will have one of the area’s favorite family events, the annual Farm Animal Baby Shower from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today to celebrate the arrival of young farm animals at the MetroParks Farm.
Youngsters can watch chicks hatch and visit with ducklings, piglets, calves, kids, and lambs. They can even pet the new arrivals, if they’re not napping. The MetroParks Farm is on state Route 46 across from the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Charity dining
Greenville Moose Family Center, 32 Shenango St., in Greenville will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. today as a benefit for Greenville’s UPMC Horizon Oncology Patient Care Fund.
Family splash
Family swim events have been scheduled for April at Warren G. Harding High School. The dates are today, April 18 and April 25. Times are from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $2 for students, $4 for adults with a maximum of $6 per family.

Stroke awareness
Stroke Awareness Sunday is offered from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 3147 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.
The event, sponsored by Ohio North First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ and funded by the Ohio Commission of Minority Health, features free stroke information and blood pressure screenings. For information, call (330) 783-3433.
