Sorority sponsors entrepreneurial program
YOUNGSTOWN
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Delta Delta and Epsilon Mu Omega chapters will sponsor a Women Investing Now (WIN) Entrepreneurial Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 1 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
The expo will provide women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to speak about and showcase their businesses and services.
The goal of the expo is to show nontraditional entrepreneur businesswomen the power of networking and other business opportunities; show that education is the foundation for all successful women and their families; and to improve living standards within the black community and education.
The featured speakers will be Judith K. Cunningham, PR/community outreach manager for Ohio Tuition Trust Authority, and Tom Samqvik, SBA Ohio.
The expo is free to the public, and attendees will have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets for a $500 shopping spree. There will be planned activities for children throughout the day and monetary prizes.
Proceeds will support the sponsor’s scholarship/social service fundraising budget.
