RTI International Metals, the Pittsburgh-based titanium manufacturer, has appointed a new executive vice president of operations.
James McCarley, a former division president for metal-components manufacturer Wyman Gordon, will take over the position May 17, the company announced Friday.
McCarley will oversee the company’s Titanium Group, including production at the Niles titanium mill, said Richard Leone, director of investor relations for RTI. The company was based in Niles until 2008.
McCarley also will direct supply-chain management and oversee fabrication and energy operations, Leone said.
McCarley will report to Dawne Hickton, RTI president and chief executive officer.
At Wyman Gordon, a subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp., McCarley oversaw manufacturing of product lines for the aerospace and energy industries. He was responsible for seven manufacturing operations in the U.S. and abroad.
Throughout his career, McCarley has been successful in increasing output and improving costs, Hickton said in a statement.
“I am very pleased to have Jim join the executive management team at RTI,” Hickton said. “I am confident that Jim’s demonstrated leadership will significantly enhance our ability to achieve our operational and financial operations.”
