Ohio Powerball lottery sales start April 16
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Ohio Lottery says Powerball arrives in the state next week, offering Ohioans another crack at big-money jackpots that can reach into the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Officials said today that sales of Powerball tickets would begin in one week at the state’s lottery outlets, meaning Ohioans could take a shot at the April 17 drawing.
Powerball is a multistate game similar to Mega Millions, which is already played in Ohio. There are drawings Wednesdays and Saturdays, and players must match five numbers from 1 to 59 and one red Powerball number out of a separate, similar pool of numbers. The jackpots start at $20 million and keep climbing until the grand prize is won.
Powerball is currently played in more than 40 other states.
