HOWLAND

In the first game, Jamie Clausen (3-0) scattered three hits and struck out six batters. Vickie Farris had three hits and two RBIs while Chrissy Porter and Macy Ucchino had two hits each. For the Tigers, Amanda Delaquila hit a two-run triple. In the second game, Angela Penza (1-0) scattered five hits and struck out six batters to get the win. Porter had four hits and three RBIs while Christina Hrehor had three RBIs. Katrina Larson had two hits and scored three runs for the Cardinals (4-0). Vickie Farris had two hits while Shayla DeCapita had two RBIs. For the Tigers (3-3), Erika Nites tripled.

Struthers 5, Newton Falls 1

NEWTON FALLS

Winning pitcher Ashley Baron struck out 13 batters. Sami Basista and Jill Jordan each had two hits for the Wildcats (7-2). For the Tigers (0-6), Breanna Ginter and Lauren Walker each had two hits. Bailey Shade struck out 11 batters.

LaBrae 6, Liberty 2

LIBERTY

McKenzie Blaney hit a two-run double for the Vikings (3-2). Laura Hall doubled and scored and winning pitcher Jessica Buck (3-1) struck out 11 batters and walked four. For the Leopards (2-3), Julie Mikulih hit a RBI double.

Champion 1, Hubbard 0

HUBBARD

The only run was scored on back-to-back errors by the Eagles. Champion’s Brooke Culler led off the seventh inning with a base hit, and advanced to second on a missed pickoff attempt. Culler came around to score on another throwing error. The Eagles finished with four errors.

Girard 10, Salem 1

GIRARD

A six-run second inning helped the Indians rally past the Quakers. Chelsea Guerrieri had three RBIs on two hits.

Boardman 1-10, Sacred Heart (Ky) 0-0

ORLANDO, Fla.

In the second contest, Julie Sokol and Nicola Gabriele combined to pitch a five-inning no-hitter against the team from Louisville, Ky. Jamie Massaro led the Spartans with four hits while Julie Olbrych, Sarah Maxwell and Erin Schafer had multiple hits. In the opener, Sokol and Gabriele combined on a three-hitter. Schaefer had two hits and the lone RBI.

South Range 4, Springfield 1

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Carly DeRose threw a four-hitter for the Raiders (4-1, 4-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). South Range took a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Ashley Davis tripled and Nicole Siciliano had a double for the Tigers (2-4, 2-4).

Western Reserve 12, Southern 0

BERLIN CENTER

Heather Monoski homered and drove in two runs while Maggie Stubbs hit three doubles to drive in two for the Blue Devils (6-0, 4-0 ITCL Tier Two). Winning pitcher Sissy Stubbs (2-0) struck out six batters and tripled and doubled to drive in two runs. For the Indians (1-3, 0-3), Maria Pitts and Maddy Dowling each had two hits.

Leetonia 3, Sebring 2

SEBRING

Taylor Ward and Kayla Maretich hit doubles for the Trojans (0-7, 0-4 ITCL Tier Two) in the nine-inning game. The Bears are 2-3, 2-2.

Mathews 6, Southington 4

SOUTHINGTON

Jenna Whitfield’s three hits included two doubles and drove in two runs for the Mustangs (5-1). Winning pitcher Autumn Timko struck out seven batters and walked none. For the Wildcats (2-3, H. Blaugher and D. Wolke each had two hits. Ashley Dietz struck out six batters and walked three.

Southeast 2, Kent Roosevelt 1

RAVENNA

Tori Sigwerth’s game-winning RBI and Layla Williams’ 12 strikeouts paced Southeast (2-1). Also for the winners, Tricia Williams had a double and single, Staci Stewart had a double, Sigwerth had an RBI single and Emily Gahagan singled.
