A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
April 1
Theft: The manager of a West Liberty Street apartment complex discovered items missing from a storage unit.
Fraud: A township woman reported the fraudulent use of her automated-teller-machine card.
April 2
Theft: An Elmwood Drive woman accused her sister of stealing her medications.
April 3
Arrest: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against Joseph Vanmeter, no information given, charging him with possession of a drug-abuse instrument. He also was wanted on multiple traffic violations.
Theft: A worker for Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, told police a man failed to return as promised to pay for fuel.
Theft: The driver of a light brown Jeep Cherokee left a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for gasoline.
April 4
Theft: A Woodland Avenue man reported his gas grill stolen.
April 5
Theft: An East Water Street man noticed furniture missing from his front porch.
Theft: A man’s personal belongings were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Christian Avenue.
Menacing: A North Main Street woman reported a female threatened the accuser and her 10-year-old daughter.
LIBERTY
April 2
Arrest: Officers picked up 46-year-old Russell L. Lunce, 1106 Ohio Ave., McDonald, on East Liberty Street. He was wanted by township authorities on a felony warrant.
Aggravated menacing: Police responded to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Belmont Avenue, where two groups of people made threats against one another related to a custody exchange. One person said another rushed toward her in a threatening manner.
Theft: Police detained a 14-year-old Youngstown boy, accusing him of stealing three Sony PlayStation games, two DVDs and a five-pack of lighters from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road.
April 3
Aggravated menacing: A Sampson Drive boy said an 18-year-old man threatened via cell phone to kill him.
Assault: A 17-year-old boy walking to work near Roosevelt Boulevard reported that three 16-year-old boys punched and kicked him. The three told police the accuser had threatened them.
April 4
Theft: A Warren woman, 20, was accused of stealing $232 worth of blood-test strips from Wal-Mart, though she had not been charged at the time of the report.
Theft: A Ravine Drive man noticed his car’s front license plate missing.
Theft: Wal-Mart officials detained a 23-year-old Youngstown woman after nail polish, costume jewelry, a five-pack of earrings and a three-pack of metal bracelets were stolen.
April 5
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of 47-year-old Philip B. Armour, 2252 Goleta Ave., Youngstown, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, a suspected crack pipe was found. Armour also was wanted on a traffic warrant.
Theft: Keith A. Ferrell, 30, of 2911 Rush Blvd., Youngstown, was booked at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant from the township.
Drugs: Authorities stopped a vehicle on Belmont Avenue before arresting Emily A. Wagner, 2118 Robbins Ave., Niles, and Kristyn L. Harris, 120 Elruth Court, Girard. The two 20-year-old women faced various drug charges when, police said, several suspected crack pipes and a full bag of hypodermic needles were among the contraband found.
Theft: At least 200 feet of copper wiring valued at $2,000 was missing from a construction site in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue.
April 6
Arrest: Police booked 24-year-old Tawana Ellis, 550 E. Boston Ave., Youngstown, at the Mahoning County jail. Ellis was wanted on a warrant from Liberty.
Theft: Police responded to a theft at Wal-Mart, then arrested 40-year-old James M. Sellers, 311 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant accusing him of theft. A charge related to the situation at Wal-Mart was pending.
Menacing: An irate customer at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., threatened employees after one refused to cash a check from another account.
Fraud: A New Wilmington, Pa., woman discovered a check stolen from her purse was cashed at a Belmont Avenue bank.
April 7
Domestic violence: A 15-year-old Logan Arms Drive girl was charged after her mother alleged the teen had tossed water at another juvenile, then struck the accuser in the face as she tried to separate the two girls.
GIRARD
April 4
Arrest: Officers responded to a person thought to be suicidal and took into custody Joseph V. Lester, 598 Stull Ave., Girard, upon learning he was wanted on a warrant from Mahoning County.
Criminal damaging: Someone threw a rock, scratching a car’s rear bumper, in the 100 block of East Liberty Street.
Attempted theft: A woman in the 900 block of Patricia Drive reported seeing a male trying to remove a box commonly used for rent deposits.
April 5
Vandalism: Someone dropped a rock from a bridge over Interstate 80, broke a vehicle’s window and damaged its paint.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 900 block of Patricia Drive. Stolen were a 40-inch high-definition TV, a computer and a tackle box, for an estimated $827 loss.
Vandalism: Someone on an I-80 overpass threw an object and shattered a car’s rear passenger-side window. Damage came to $300.
