Painter electrocuted in western Pa.

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A Pittsburgh man is dead after being electrocuted while painting the outside of a Habitat for Humanity building.

The Allegheny County Coroner’s office says 48-year-old Paul Thompson died Wednesday afternoon in New Kensington.

Habitat for Humanity Allegheny Valley executive director Diane Belitskus says Thompson was struck by falling wires while painting a warehouse. She says one of Thompson’s painting company co-workers tried to revive him.

Firefighters used a ladder to bring Thompson down from the roof of the building. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
