Judge will speak at professionals’ event

The Columbiana Area Business and Professional Women’s Club announced Judge Melissa Byers-Emmerling of the East Liverpool Municipal Court will be its keynote speaker at 7 p.m. April 20th at the Salem Community Center. The club will be celebrating “Equal Pay Day” for women.

Judge Byers-Emmerling was the first judge in Columbiana County to be elected president of the Ohio Municipal and County Court Judges Association.

She has also been chosen by the Ohio Supreme Court to serve on commissions, including the Futures Commission, which addressed a plan and strategy for meeting the needs of the judicial system for the next 25 years.

Trumbull Republicans schedules gathering

WARREN

The Trumbull County Republican Party will have its monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Mocha House Restaurant, 467 High St.

Guest speakers include Bruce Gump, chairman of the Warren Legislative Group Delphi Salaried Retiree Association and candidates running for office in the May primary election.

County chairmen for several statewide candidates will also give an update on those campaigns.

Warriors Inc. plans annual Unity parade

YOUNGSTOWN

Warriors Inc. will have its 6th annual Unity in the Community Parade from 10 a.m. until noon April 24.

The parade will begin at Midlothian Boulevard and Market Street. It will end at the Hope Building, 2733 Market St.

A minority-health family day will take place after the parade, in the Annex building parking lot. Information about health care will be available. There also will be live entertainment, dancing, a bounce-around, crafts, refreshments and more.

Slovenian heritage day

ENON VALLEY, Pa.

The SNPJ Heritage Center will host a Slovenian heritage day from 1 to 4 p.m. April 25 at the SNPJ Recreation Center, 270 Martin Road.

The event will include displays of tramp art, Slovenian artifacts, photos of polka events and more. Participants can also tour the Heritage Center and meet Slovenian Consulate Jure Zmauc. Ethnic foods will be available for purchase.
