On Friday, the Humility of Mary Health Partners Palliative Medicine team will recognize National Healthcare Decisions Day by assisting employees and visitors in documenting their health-care decisions. Team members will be outside the cafeterias at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, and St. Elizabeth Boardman from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to offer help completing written advance directives, such as health- care power of attorney, living-will and living will registry.

The Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering Sports Injury Prevention and First Aid Course on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the chapter office, 8392 Tod Ave. The class meets Ohio Department of Education requirements for coaches. The American Red Cross Mahoning Chapter offers free blood-pressure screening at various locations in April. They are: Thursday, Davis Family YMCA, Boardman, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; April 20, Struthers Library, 1 to 4 p.m.; April 21, Austintown Fitch Library, 1 to 3 p.m.; April 27, Poland Library, 1 to 4 p.m. Preregistration is not required.

The Ohio Department of Health has issued a new immunization requirement for schoolchildren beginning with the 2010-11 school year. All incoming seventh-graders will be required to have a Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccination prior to starting school. To assist parents in meeting this requirement, the Mahoning County District Board of Health will offer vaccination clinics with extended hours at 50 Westchester Drive, Austintown. The Clinic dates are: April 22, 2 to 7 p.m.; May 27, 2 to 7 p.m.; June 24, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of the vaccination is $14.65.
