Workers for Poland-based company at center of Hudson rescue

HUDSON — Crews are trying to rescue two men trapped underground after a construction accident in Hudson.

It happened at about 11 a.m. Wednesday at a private construction project to install sewer lines for four new homes in Fossalto Estates, which is off Norton Road.

Emergency workers tell NewsChannel5 in Cleveland that two men were working in a trench that was 15-feet deep when the walls collapsed, leaving them trapped under the dirt.

Crews say at least one of the men trapped has been somehow communicating with rescue workers.

The men work with Bagnoli & Son, which is based out of Poland, Ohio.

A LifeFlight helicopter is on standby to respond to the scene.
