Nicolette Demyan had three hits including a triple to lead the Struthers High softball team to a 10-0 win over Howland on Tuesday. Ashley Baron added a double and a triple for Struthers (6-2). Baron (5-1) tossed a two-hitter to get the win. Howland is 3-1.

Fitch 2, Lake 0

UNIONTOWN

Amanda Callahan tossed a three-hit shutout for the Falcons (2-1, 1-0 Federal League). Fitch scored twice in the sixth inning after Emily Purnell walked. After Haley Martinelli and Alyssa Jones singled to load the bases, Carly Ortz hit a ground ball and an errant throw allowed Purnell to score. Alana Callahan singled to left to drive in the other run. Lake is 1-4, 0-1.

Boardman 10, North Bergen (N.J.) 0

ORLANDO, FLA.

Julie Sokol and Nicola Gabriele combined to pitch a five-inning two-hitter for the Spartans. Brooke Meenachan’s three hits included a home run. Angela Martin and Danielle Petrus each had two hits and two RBIs.

Ursuline 12, Newton Falls 1

BAZETTA

Casey Lower pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks to win her 67th career game, breaking the school record set by Maureen Cearfoss (66, 2002-05). Sarah Ingalls doubled, homered and drove in four for the Irish (3-2), Malikka Caige had three hits and Anna Donko two. Bailey Shade had two hits for Newton Falls (0-5).

Poland 10, Lakeview 0

POLAND

Jenna Modic and Erin Gabriel teamed up for a five-inning one-hitter for unbeaten Poland (4-0).

Adriana Sikora’s three hits included a double. Chelsea McCree also had three hits while Nicole White hit a two-run double. Meredith Testa and Jessica D’Apolito each had two hits while Modic drove in four runs. For Lakeview (2-3), Alexis Neumeister singled in the second inning.

Canfield 5, Liberty 0

LIBERTY

Carlee Hart (2-1) had a no-hitter until the seventh inning when Liberty’s Renee Dutton singled. Kasey McMurray led Canfield (2-2) with three hits including a triple, and four RBIs, while Cara Cupler had a double.

Niles 3, Salem 2

NILES

Aubrey Hale (3-0) had 12 strikeouts and only gave up three hits against the visiting Quakers. Niles’ (6-0) Megan McDermott had three hits including a double, and Hale added a triple and drove in two.

South Range 2, Springfield 1

NORTH LIMA

Carly DeRose (2-0) went four innings with seven strikeouts and one walk as South Range (3-1, 3-0 Inter Tri-County League) was able to hold off Springfield (2-3, 2-1).

Springfield’s Devin Sowers, Erica Pitts, and Kim Taylor doubled. South Range was led by Morgan Renforth with a triple and Darrian Yanek adding two hits.

East Palestine 6, United 1

EAST PALESTINE

Carly Blair hit a two-run homer, Karly Pence also homered and Emily Noel had an RBI triple for East Palestine (4-1, 3-0). Emily Stewart had two hits and Pence struck out 10 to get the win. For United (3-2, 2-1), Courtnee Baker had an RBI single.

Western Reserve 11, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE

Ashlee Grim (4-1) tossed a one-hitter for the Blue Devils. Maggie Stubbs tripled and doubled to drive in six runs. Chelsea Bogden hit a two-run double while Heather Monoski and Sissy Stubbs each doubled. For the Indians, Kati Hipsley singled with two outs in the fifth inning.

Mathews 10, Bristol 4

VIENNA

Winning pitcher Brittany Schnarrs struck out 10 and walked two. Stephanie Durig and Hollie Shreves each had two hits, Julie Wise tripled and Jessica Marsico double. For Bristol, Allyson Jones hit a two-run homer and Megan Adams had two hits.

Leetonia 7, Sebring 3

For the Trojans (0-6, 0-3 ITCL), Courtney Maretich had two hits and scored twice while Karlie Meek tripled.
