Man AWOL from Air Force found in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Township police transported a 20-year-old Air Force member who had been reported missing to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

The Air Force had reported the man, Michael A. Maynard, whose address is listed on a police report as Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, missing.

Tuesday afternoon, police were called to Gabriel Bros., U.S. Route 224, where Maynard had been seen. He was despondent and told police he had a straight razor in his pocket. He was taken to the hospital.

Police called an Air Force sergeant who said there was a pending confinement Absent Without Leave order on Maynard and that military police were on the way to the hospital to pick him up.
