2nd U.S. woman pleads not guilty to terrorism charge

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A pregnant Colorado woman charged in a global terrorism plot has pleaded not guilty to aiding terrorists at a hearing in Philadelphia.

Jaime Paulin-Ramirez also agreed to be detained until trial. She wore a prison jumpsuit and wire-rimmed eyeglasses, and had long blonde hair down her back.

Prosecutors say she flew to Ireland in September to join co-defendant Colleen LaRose of Pennsylvania and married an Algerian co-conspirator the same day.

Defense attorney Jeremy Ibrahim says the hasty marriage may be foolish but is not evidence of a crime.

Irish authorities detained her and six others while investigating an alleged plot to kill a Swedish artist.
