Poland native on Oprah show
Krista Gierlach, a Poland native who now lives in California, will be on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on April 7. Gierlach, who now goes by the stage name Krista Swan, is a member of the Powerhouse show choir at John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Calif. Powerhouse is the top-ranked show choir in the country, and for that reason, Winfrey selected it to perform on her show with the cast of the TV series “Glee.”
Several years ago, Gierlach was known to Mahoning Valley TV viewers as one of the little girls in the Sheely’s Furniture commercials who sang “Honey, it’s the place where we can save money.”
She was also a Green Team spokesperson. Gierlach moved to California in 2004 to pursue a career in the entertainment business. She has worked on several television shows and films, including “Dexter,” “Santa Clause 3,” “Jonas Brothers 3-D Movie” and “Danny Phantom.”
