Born: April 8, 1910, in Youngstown where he has been a lifelong resident.

Parent: The only child of William M. Sr. and Florence Kieling Neckerman.

Education: Graduated from The Rayen School and earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.

Employment: Was a sales engineer with Republic Steel Corp. until retiring in 1975.

Military: Served as a first lieutenant with the U.S. Army in the European theater of operations during World War II.

Membership: Lifelong member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Youngstown.

Biography: Well known for his sense of humor, he enjoys fishing, golf, bridge and traveling.

Celebration: Will celebrate his birthday on April 8 with members of his church and with residents at Park Vista Retirement Community, 1216 Fifth Ave., where he has lived since 1996.
