Dylon DeJane was 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs for Springfield (1-0) in the Tigers’ first game since its Div. IV state runner-up finish in June, 2009. Also for the Tigers, junior Brad Ferraro had two singles for three RBIs and freshman Cody Pitzo had two singles. Sophomore Nick Russell (1-0) gave up three hits and struck out four in the first four innings before Ferraro pitched two hitless inning with two strikeouts in relief. Josh Cook doubled for Lisbon (0-1). Mike Rohm (0-1) pitched the first 2 2⁄3 innings for the Blue Devils (0-1) before Matt Wilson finished the final 3 1⁄3.

Jake Barker had two hits with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base to lead the Blue Devils (3-0). John Gora added two hits, two RBIs and a stolen base and Josh Sudano had two hits, two walks and two RBIs. Trevor Eaton singled and scored for Sebring (0-3).

With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, senior Andria Lyons and Ashley Davis scored from third base and second base, respectively, on a throwing error for the Tigers (1-0). Davis, a senior, finished with two singles while Lyons had another single for Springfield’s only hits. Sophomore Elissa Burkey (1-0) struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk. Katy Crismon and Rachel Debray had the only hits for Lisbon (0-1.).

CAMPBELL
Summer Luckey tripled and drove in three runs and Sarah Bell doubled and drove in three to lead YCS (1-0), which led 8-1 at one point. Devony Womack had two hits and Alyssa Perry struck out eight to get the win. For Campbell (0-2), Alexis Tych and Carmen Tejeda had two singles.
