The Rev. K.L. Simon, pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., will offer a Holy Land presentation during the Sunday-school program at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday. There will be a sunrise service at 6 a.m. and worship at 10:40.

Damascus Road Players, in cooperation with Emmanuel Community Church, 6512 Kirk Road, will present “Beauty from Pain,” a rock opera of love and sacrifice, at 7 p.m. today and Easter Sunday. Admission is free; donations will be accepted.

Easter cantata

Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Cherry Lane, will present the Easter cantata, “Jesus is Lord,” at 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday. Narration will be by the church choir.

Easter musical

First Baptist Church, 26 E. Church St., will present the Easter musical “In the Presence of Jehovah” at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. A nursery will be available for infants.

Truckers 4 Jesus

The Truckers 4 Jesus ministry at the Petro Truck Stop, Weathersfield Township, will show Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion of the Christ” at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday in the truck-stop theater. It is free along with refreshments.

Ecumenical pilgrimage

The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and Northeast Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are organizing the Lutheran-Catholic ecumenical pilgrimage, “A Journey Towards Understanding Germany and Italy,” from Oct. 11-21. The trip includes visits to Wittenberg, Wartburg, Eisleben, Erfurt, Rome and Assisi.

Bishop George V. Murry of the diocese and Bishop Elizabeth Eaton of the synod will lead this 11-day pilgrimage. All The King’s Men, a city-wide all-men’s prayer command, is planned at 6 a.m. Easter Sunday on the steps of Mahoning County Courthouse, 120 Market St.

Spring revival

Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 10th St., will have a spring revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday featuring Pastor Michael H. Harrison Jr. of Union Baptist Church and president of the Ohio Baptist Convention. Various choirs will perform.

Event for missions

Praise Assembly of God Church, 1004 N. Main St., will have a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday for a donation to missions.

Learn to meditate

The Unity Church Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, will sponsor classes on meditation starting at noon Monday. The two- hour classes will run for five weeks, and students will have the opportunity to experience different meditative techniques.

Gloria Ross, a licensed teacher with Unity, will conduct classes. She is working on a master’s degree in spiritual studies at Antioch University. Classes are free, but donations will be accepted. For information, call Unity at (330) 539-0122. Class size will be limited.

Jameson Hospice’s service of remembrance

Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County will have its Service of Remembrance at 3 p.m. April 11 at First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive. The memorial service is for the families, volunteers, Friends of Hospice, caregivers and staff members.

Liturgical musicians

Rory Cooney, Gary Daigle and Theresa Donahoo, liturgical musicians, will perform at 7 p.m. April 16 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 5235 South Ave.

Christian women

Zion Hill Church of the Brethen, 14550 New Buffalo Road, will host Community Christian Women on April 12 with guest speaker Melinda Holsopple of North Lima, whose topic will be “My Trip to Ethiopia.” She will discuss women’s roles around the world.

The meeting will begin with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. with a donation of $6. Reservations should be made with your church representative by Thursday.
