14-year-old Pa. girl dies in crash on U.S. 224


NEW CASTLE, PA.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a two-car accident that took the life of a 14-year-old girl.

According to police, Denise Betts of Edinburg was turning onto U.S. Route 224 from Christine Drive in Mahoning Township Friday night with the 14-year-old girl as a passenger when the car was struck by another car driven by Joyce Donohue of Volant. There was a 6-year-old boy in the car with Donohue.

Betts and the 14-year-old girl were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center where the girl was pronounced dead. Police have not released her name.

Donohue and the 6-year-old boy were treated at Jameson Hospital.
