The Wildcats scored the game’s only run in the first inning on a walk and three hit batsmen, and Ashley Baron made it stand up by scattering four singles. Jill Jordan had the only hit for Struthers (2-2). Rebecca Brown singled twice for Canfield (1-1).
Poland 10, Liberty 0
POLAND
Erin Gabriel had three hits to lead Poland (2-0), and Jenna Modic struck out nine in a complete game one-hitter. Modic also had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Adrianna Sikora added a triple and single, while Nicole White singled twice with an RBI, and Chelsea McCree had two RBIs.

HOWLAND
Haley Marchio struck out nine and walked two to get the mound win and also doubled and singled for Howland (3-0). Tori McCormick had a bases-loaded double and Carla Cope added a two-run double in the win, while Erika Nites singled and doubled and Tiffany McCormick had two singles. For Hubbard (1-2), Samantha Dudley and Ashley Bone each had two singles.

Megan McDermott, Samantha Ramer and Aubry Hale each had two hits and Hale had two RBIs to lead Niles (2-0). For Lakeview (2-1), Kim Lane had three hits and Alyssa Nicholas and Alexis Neumeister each had two hits.

BOARDMAN
Sophomore Marissa Gorvet had three hits and Chrissy Porter doubled twice and three RBIs for Mooney (2-0). Sophomore Corynn Ozenghar tripled, while fellow sophomores Katrina Larson and Simone Zeoli doubled. Christina Hrehor homered, and Macy Ucchino had two hits. Junior Jamie Clausen and freshman Angela Penza combined to strike out 12 on a three-hitter.
Girard 3, McDonald 2, 8 innings
GIRARD
Senior Megan McCale knocked in junior Brelle Bello with the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth for the Indians (3-1). With the score 2-2, junior Lisa Holmes walked and Bello assumed the courtesy runner role. Freshman Kiley Kulon singled and junior Carolyn Standohar’s sacrifice bunt advanced the runners to second and third before McCale’s hit. Holmes finished with 10 strikeouts. McDonald’s Kaitlin Rutushin had two of her team’s five hits and struck out eight for the Blue Devils (1-1).

Sophomore Rebecca Devlin had a three-hitter and struck out 13 for Salem (1-2). Also for the Quakers, sophomore Deanna Walker had a triple and three singles, while senior Shay Pittman added two singles.

Morgan White struck out nine over four innings and Lindsay Swipas added three innings of shutout relief, striking out seven, as the two pitchers combined on a one-hitter. White and McKenzie Kiser each had two hits for the Flashes (2-0).

Kayla Williams allowed one hit and struck out 10 for Southeast (10). Payten Boston and Kayla Carson homered for the Pirates, while Tricia Williams doubled twice. Emily Gahangan hit a triple, while Terra Coontz and Danielle Stropki both singled twice. Makayla Crosuer had the only hit for Newton Falls (0-3).

Senior Lindsey Knipp struck out five during a one hitter over four innings for Jackson-Milton (2-0). Katie Santor had a triple and double for three RBIs and scored twice, while Kiraly had a single and home run in the Bluejays’ 16-hit attack. Kayla Helper had the lone hit for Leetonia (0-2).

Haley McAllister knocked in two runs with three hits — two of which were doubles, while Tawny Rogers and Darian Rogers each had two hits for Champion in a Wednesday game. Also for the Golden Flashes, Tawny Rogers and Darian Rogers each had a double. Amber Affagato and Sami Basista had two hits, while Ashley Baron and Wyntre Wilson had a double apiece for the Wildcats.
