NEWTON FALLS
The Newton Falls Police Department is investigating a home invasion and $40,000 armed robbery. About 10:47 p.m. Wednesday, a man in his early 30s entered a home on Newton Drive through the front door and held the homeowner at gunpoint. The gunman ordered the homeowner to open his safe.
The gunman was described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 to 180 pounds. The victim also reported the suspect as having hair darker than his eyebrow color, about a three-day beard and a small teardrop-type tattoo or birth mark under his left eye. He was wearing a gray, hooded sweat shirt, gray work pants and work boots. The weapon was described as a semiautomatic handgun with a gray finish.
The man fled on foot with in excess of $40,000 in cash after stuffing it into a brown paper bag. Anyone having information can contact the Newton Falls Police Department at (330) 872-5757.
Teen goes missing

Township police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who’s been missing since the morning of March 26. Ashley R. Cunningham was last seen by her mother getting on the school bus about 9:15 a.m. that day.
Ashley has braces, is 5-feet-6-inches tall and 162 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and a black, hooded jacket. Anyone with information about Ashley’s whereabouts is asked to call township police at (330) 726-4144.
Route 5 fatal
RAVENNA
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a Ravenna man was killed and two Bristolville residents seriously injured in a two-car accident on state Route 5 about 1 p.m. Thursday. Rila Price Jr., 85, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. John F. Kramer, 71, of Bristolville, was taken to Akron City Hospital where he was listed as stable. A passenger, Anita L. Kramer, 69, also of Bristolville, was stable in Robinson Memorial Hospital, police said. A third occupant of the Kramer car, Jackson F. Clark, 5, was treated at Akron Children’s Hospital. Police said Kramer was westbound on Route 5 when Price, headed north on Knapp Road, pulled into his path.
Homicide probed

Police are following several leads and still accepting information from the public in the city’s most-recent homicide. Brian Greer, 32, of Republic Avenue was shot and killed at 6:30 p.m. Monday on Lauderdale Avenue. He was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Capt. Rod Foley, head of detectives, said no arrest has been made or warrants issued, but police have received several tips and are following those. Anyone with information on the murder should call the police department.
