Goodwill to open newest store in Austintown

Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries will open its eighth retail store in April in Austintown.

The new 12,000-square-foot store will be located at 6000 Mahoning Avenue in the Austintown Plaza.

The three-day grand opening will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony Apr. 8. The first 25 customers in the door at 9 a.m. will receive a $10 Goodwill store gift certificate.

All eight local Goodwill stores (Austintown, Boardman, Calcutta, Hermitage, Liberty, New Castle, Salem and Warren) will celebrate the opening of the newest store by offering 30 percent off new merchandise and 50 percent off donated merchandise from Apr. 8 through Apr. 10.

The stores will open at 9 a.m. during the three-day grand opening event.

In addition, the Junior Group of Goodwill will sell jewelry at the Austintown store Apr. 10 (sales, discounts and coupons will not be applicable on Junior Group jewelry).

The Austintown store and donation center will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.

The donation center is located in the back of the plaza.

“Our new prototype store will be filled with quality donated merchandise, along with new merchandise,” said David Ivko, retail sales director.

Approximately 20 percent of the Austintown store merchandise will be new merchandise.

“Our new store in the Austintown Plaza will reflect our new generation of Goodwill stores in the Youngstown market and will be closely modeled after the Boardman store,” said Ivko.
