CLASSES

Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1942 Alumni will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant in Austintown. Classmates and guests are welcome.

Chaney High School Class of 1959 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. April 13 at Davidson’s in Cornersburg. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. All classmates and guests are welcome.

CLUBS

College Club of Sharon will have a continental breakfast and meeting at 10 a.m. April 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Pa. Dr. Arthur A. White, professor of philosophy at Thiel College, will speak on “Teaching Religion and Philosophy to Today’s Kids.” Hospitality will be provided by Barbara Clawson, Nora Lea Garay, Linda Murray and Roseann Rookey. GUILDS

Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has scheduled the following neighborhood meetings: Material Girls at 6 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 490 N. High St., Cortland, for a program by Terry Myers-Shuster; and Designing Women Machine Embroidery Group at 10 a.m. April 9 at Domestic Sewing, 2011 Youngstown S.E., Warren (take embroidery machine and thread).

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of Boardman Library will meet for a social at 9:30 a.m. April 12 in the community room at the library. Hostesses will be Patricia Beede, Claudia DiRienzo, Jan Harper and Deanna Lambert. A program on “General George Armstrong Custer” will be presented by Cliff Powell at 10. No reservations required, and guests are welcome. Book cart supplies will be collected from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

Friends of Poland Library will meet for coffee at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the library meeting room. Jan Noel will present a program on “Aprons.” Members are invited to take an apron and share a story. Hostesses are Maureen Cole, Peg Bodine, Mary Burgham and Anne Shepherd. Books and magazines will be collected for a book cart fundraiser.

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. April 9 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield for a social and meet-and-greet. Wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The cost is $20.
