Canfield students help victims of earthquake

The Senior Officers of Canfield High School are responding to the devastating earthquake and tsunami that happened Feb. 27 in Chile and are planning to have a one-day basketball tournament as a fundraiser to send financial help to the country.

The officers are hosting “Cardinals 4 Chile” 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament at the high school gym Monday at 3:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public and the cost to attend is $1. Donations of any amount or value will be accepted.

Participants can also sponsor the event. It will cost $100 to be a Bronze sponsor, $200 to be a Silver sponsor or $300 to be a Gold sponsor. This sponsorship guarantees the name of the business on the tournament’s T-shirts.

Checks should be made to Brother’s Brother Foundation/Chile.

The fee for participation in the 4-on-4 tournament is $20 and $15 if there is a faculty member on the team.

Only one varsity or JV basketball player (girls or boys) per team is permitted.
