Canfield High introduces 2010 baseball teams

Neighbors | Grace Wyler .The Canfield High School varsity baseball team will kick off the season at home against Hubbard Mar. 30. In no order, Anthony Ross, Brock McGivern, Ben Angelo, Nick Benson, Brett Cooper, Jon Zuara, Joey Mikolay, Jared Bettura, Matt Harmon, Brad Smith, Ron Sullivan, Kyle Vaclav, Joey Hoelzel, Kyle Kesner, Dan Calai, Tim Calhoun, Nick Reinthaler, Josh Midgeley and Justen Vrabel.

The Canfield High School baseball teams kicked off the 2010 season with an annual “Meet the Team” dinner sponsored by the Canfield Diamond Backers Mar. 23.

Players and their families gathered in the school cafeteria to share a potluck dinner sponsored by the booster club.

“We have the event so the parents and the grandparents come and build awareness around the team,” said Joe Reinthaler, president of the Diamondbackers.

Head Coach Matt Koenig thanked the players, coaches and families for their commitment during the preseason.

Koenig expressed excitement and hope for the upcoming season. Koenig introduced the coaching staff, who in turn presented the freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams. The players announced their names and positions and then introduced their parents.
