A transition tuition rate of $96 per credit hour will be established for YSU courses taken by YEC students in 2010-11. The rate can change if the YSU trustees approve any tuition changes in fiscal 2012 or 2013. The same applies to Eastern Gateway Community College courses.

The city school district will assume all YSU course tuition costs at the $96 rate. The previous cost of $290 per credit hour was split with the city schools paying 51 percent and YSU paying 49 percent. City school officials said the new cost will be less than the district’s current $350,000 tuition tab.

The city schools and Eastern Gateway will negotiate a tuition-sharing agreement for Eastern Gateway courses.

YSU and Eastern Gateway courses will transfer between institutions.

The city schools will continue to pick up the estimated $450,000 annual YEC operating costs.

Students who will be sophomores, juniors and seniors next fall will continue to move forward under YSU programming.
