JFK joins North Coast League
John F. Kennedy Catholic High School announced its membership in the North Coast League beginning in the 2011-12 school year. The North Coast League is composed of catholic high schools from Northeast Ohio, including Akron Hoban, Cleveland Central Catholic, Mentor Lake Catholic, Holy Name, Parma Padua, Bedford Chanel, Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph, Trinity and Notre Dame Cathedral-Latin. Kennedy will join along with Cleveland Benedictine High School, Beaumont School and Walsh Jesuit High School.
A comprehensive evaluation of the school was completed before the partnership was announced. Principal Brian Sinchak confirms, “Kennedy was evaluated on the strength of our projected enrollment, fiscal viability and strategic plan for the future.” He continues, “Our athletic program has always been outstanding. We are pleased to have found a conference that will embrace our school as competitors on the field and partners in mission in the classroom”.
Mr. Sinchak believes this partnership will reflect the values that define John F. Kennedy athletics. He says, “After meeting with every head coach in our system, it was unanimously decided that this partnership is in the best interest of our student athletes. We look forward to competition with schools in the 2011-2012 school year and beyond that mirror our commitment to academic excellence, Catholic identity and athletic tradition.”
More on this development will be in Friday's Vindicator.
