Lawrence County shelter gets grant


NEW CASTLE, Pa. — U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire of McCandless, D-4th, announced that the Lawrence County Crisis Shelter has received a $95,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help it combat domestic and sexual violence in rural Lawrence County. This funding will help create two new websites to educate and support victims of abuse. It will also help the Lawrence County Crisis Shelter carry out education and outreach campaigns in Hickory, Little Beaver, Mahoning, New Wilmington, Plain Grove, Pulanski, Scott, and Washington townships.
