Martorana lifts Howland, 4-3


CORTLAND — Sophomore Shannon Martorana scored her first varsity goal with 6:36 left to lift Howland past Lakeview 4-3 in a girls soccer game Monday. Gina Albani had three goals for the Tigers (7-1-1), while Jessica Wilson had two assists and Katie Chambers one. Erika Nites had four saves. For Lakeview, Lindsey Clark scored twice and Laura Griffith once, while Caitlin Yokum and Justine DeFrancesco had assists. Elaine Moldovan had one save.

Ursuline 6, YCS 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Briana Curd had four goals and Brittany Curdand and Rena Hinebaugh each added one for Ursuline, which turned back Youngstown Christian 6-0 in a girls soccer game Monday. Briana Curd and Megan Buckley had assists and Anita Smith had four saves for Ursuline (5-6-1). For YCS, Kaitlyn Vestal and Devanie Womack combined for seven saves.

Niles 4, Warren Harding 1

Megan McDermott scored four goals for Niles (5-5). Raffaela Infante and Emily Suckow each added two assists. Sara Scarnecchia made four saves. Cierra Sparks had three saves for Harding (3-7-1).

Poland 6, Beaver Local 0

POLAND — The Bulldogs (7-1-1) took all 32 shots in the game. Kelsey Malenic scored twice, Lindsey Cooper had a goal and two assists while Tatum Marucci, Abbey Chandler and Samantha Susich scored in a balanced attack. Beaver Local is 6-3-1.

West Branch 5, Maplewood 0

BELOIT — Niki Carlton had a goal and an assist, while Danielle Agnew, Lindsey O’Donnell, Brandi Snyder and Sarah Pigza also scored. Amanda Hawk added an assist. Sierra Woolf and Snyder each had three saves. Valerie Blank had nine saves for Maplewood.

NEWTON FALLS — Brooke Rodgers had two goals and two assists for the Tigers (6-1-2), while Angela Giuliano, Hallie Zelle, Racquel Mayfield and Dezzy Johnson also scored. Rachel Ellis had two assists and Nikita Rasp had one. Rebecca Humberger made four saves. For Liberty (0-10), Victoria Serrano had 30 saves.

COLUMBIANA — Megan Blinsky had two goals and Becky Knepp, Stevie Jo Adelman and Christine Wassum had one each for Waterloo. For Crestview, Erica Cox and Emily Corll scored goals and Amanda Kissinger had an assist. Megan Foster had 22 saves.

RAVENNA — Jessie Pajestka had two goals, Hope St. John had a goal and an assist and Katlyn Rasmussen had a goal for Bristol (6-3-1). Michelle Termine, Bobbi Hartzell and Elexis Blake had assists and Heidi Ulrich had 10 saves. For Southeast, McKayla Munger scored a goal and Rebecca Riemenschneider had 11 saves.

Kennedy Catholic 2, lmwood City 2

HERMITAGE — Chelsea Bernat and Alyson Derrick scored goals for Kennedy (1-4-1) and Alyssa Hrishenko had an assist. Angela Balint had 17 saves on 18 shots. For Elmwood City, Michelle Nocera had two goals and Nicole Nocera had an assist. Samantha Costa had eight saves on 10 shots. JVs: 0-0.
