AUCTIONS
• St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sponsor a Chinese auction Sunday. Doors open at 2 p.m. and drawings begin at 4. The donation is $5. Only 150 to 200 tickets will be sold. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the rectory at (330) 542-3466 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
BINGO, CARD PARTIES
• Girard Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 2172 is having a bingo and card party Sunday with door prizes, basket raffle, bake sale and more. The party will take place at the aerie hall, 26 W. Wilson Ave., Girard. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and dinner will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The meal is rigatoni with meat sauce, tossed salad, cake and coffee. Also on Nov. 1, there will be a Christmas auction beginning at 2 p.m., consisting of all new items, and featuring food and a bake sale, a 50-50 raffle and a basket raffle.
• Infant Jesus of Prague Guild of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will sponsor a bingo and card party beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. A light lunch will be served. The donation is $5.
• St. Brendan Altar & Rosary Society is sponsoring its annual Fall Bingo and Card Party at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in Maxwell Hall (enter from back parking lot), 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown. Admission is $5 and includes lunch.
• St. Patrick Church Altar and Rosary Society will have a card and bingo party at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church hall, Main Street, Hubbard. The donation will be $5 at the door and will include a light lunch, table and door prizes, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle.
BOOK SALES
• Friends of Hubbard Library will have a book sale beginning with a preview night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sale hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Books will be $2 a bag on Saturday.
FUNDRAISERS
• Animal Welfare League will sponsor its 14th annual Walk for the Animals on Sunday at the indoor shelter house at Packard Park, Mahoning Avenue, Warren. Participants will collect donations for their walk. Prizes will be awarded for most unusual pet, best costume, look-a-like pet, and top 10 money raisers. • Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, is open Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ReStore carries a wide variety of furniture, including a large selection of couches and many large metal professional office desks; used building materials such as doors, windows, sinks, hardware and plumbing; lighting; home decor items; large and small appliances; electronics; toys; books and much more. All items are sold at low discount prices. ReStore takes donations and sells to the public, all to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s home-building program. TRIPS
• St. Paul Church in Salem is accepting reservations for a holiday bus trip Dec. 6 to Columbus. The trip package includes tickets to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra’s two hour matinee of “Holiday Pops 2009” with a chorus, children’s choir and Ballet Met dancers, and a guided tour of Franklin Park Conservatory and the Chiluly Exhibit.
