Business-proposal contest targets YSU students

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University students are invited to join a business- proposal competition. Semifinalists will present their proposals at a breakfast Nov. 19 hosted by the Monus Center for Entrepreneurship at Youngstown State University.

Hosting the IdeaLaunch competition are the center, Youngstown Business Incubator, Ohio Small Business Development Center and the Garden Club Angels. Finalists will be paired with a mentor and prepare a business plan for presentation to the Garden Club Angels, a local organization interested in small-business investment.

All proposals must be sent by e-mail by 5 p.m. Nov. 2 to idealaunch@ybi.org.

Kimmel elected to board of Jameson Health System

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Cheryl Kimmel, chairman of the Children’s Advocacy Center Board at Jameson Health System, has been elected to the health system’s board of directors. Ten others were re-elected.

The following officers were chosen: Lee Silverman, chairman; Steven Warner, vice chairman; Kenneth Romig, secretary; and Ben Huffman, treasurer.

Named to the board of Jameson Hospital were Frank Moses, vice president of New Era Realty Co., and Michael Wish, chief executive of Wish Development.
