YBPW fashion show to benefit students

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown Business and Professional Women’s Club will host its 9th annual fashion show and luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman.

Tickets for the event are $35 and include lunch, champagne, and the fashion show. Proceeds will benefit the YBPW Anne McMahon Scholarship. The fund provides annual college scholarships to women attending Youngstown State University, based on need and achievement.

Scholarships of $1,500 each were awarded in 2009 to Jennifer Edwards of Poland, a junior majoring in social work, and to Sarah Stafford of Boardman, a junior majoring in marketing.

Founded in 1920, the YBPW is dedicated to helping women achieve personal and professional growth. A local affiliate of the national Business and Professional Women’s Club, its mission is to achieve equity for women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
