Stubbs scores 3 TDs in JFK’s 49-28 rout of Western Reserve Academy


HUDSON — Korin Stubbs scored three touchdowns — in the beginning, middle and end — for Warren JFK, which took a 30-0 lead en route to a 49-28 victory over Western Reserve Academy in a prep football game on Saturday.

Stubbs tallied two minutes after the opening kickoff from 2 yards out, then again early in the third quarter on a 13-yard run before rushing over the goal line from 12 yards away with 3:44 left in the game.

Stubbs’ 10 carries netted 95 yards while Carl Broadbent’s three rushes totaled 60 yards. Broadbent also scored on a 25-yard fumble recovery and he passed to Zack Nicholas for another touchdown.

Nate Marsico added two TDs for JFK (3-2), which rolled up 260 yards on the ground. Marsico finished with 78 yards on eight carries.

Western Reserve Academy (0-4) delivered through the air with Michael Gulasey completing 17 of 23 for 287 yards.
