Ohio booster-seat law

The law also says that 8- to 15-year- olds not in child-safety seats must be secured in vehicle seat belts, said Lisa Pardi, injury prevention coordinator for Akron Children’s Hospital.

Motor-vehicle collisions are the most common cause of death in children age 4 and older, said the Ohio Department of Public Safety, and a national study found a 60 percent reduced risk of serious injury in 4- to 7-year-old children when a booster seat was used instead of a seat belt, Pardi said.
