Flower show winners announced by judges

YOUNGSTOWN — A standard flower show was sponsored by the Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown Sept. 12 and 13 at the Davis Center in Mill Creek Park.

Entries were judged by Esther Bertch, Laura Miller and Joyce Dunbar, who announced the winners.

Blue ribbons in horticulture went to: Sheila Bowman and Rosemary Fuller of Nature Lovers; Norma Brown and Mary Schall, Austintown; Pearl Marlos, Mary Lou Flere and Joyce Dunbar, Gleaners; Irene John and Harry Potts, Member at Large; Susie Cochran, East Liverpool; Peggie Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Carol Cartwright, St. Michaels; Charlene Flesch, Immaculate Heart; Lynn Hoffman, Bill MacPherson and George Guju, Mens, and Blanche Ruggiero, public.

Special awards in horticulture went to Bowman, Dunbar and Ruggiero.

In design the blue ribbon winners were: Kathy Helman and Susie Cochran of East Liverpool; Marlos of Gleaners; and Nathan Dunbar, public.

Marlos also captured a special award in design.
