Found Guilty

WARREN — A Trumbull County Common Pleas jury this morning found Eugene Cumberbatch guilty of seven charges in the shooting deaths of

Lloyd McCoy Jr., 11, and Marvin Chaney, 26.

The two were killed in April 13 inside Chaney’s house on Wick Street SE. The jury found that Cumberbatch, of Warren, was one of two that got out of a car and fired 25 shots into the house. The shooting was prompted by Chaney’s theft of drugs and $3,000 in cash from Cumberbatch and Eugene Henderson, the other shooter. Henderson’s trial will be Nov. 2.

Cumberbatch, for whom the judge ordered a presentence investigation, could get life in prison.
