Thomas More (2-0, 1-0 PAC) vs. Westminster (1-2, 0-0 PAC)

Where: Harold Burry Stadium, New Wilmington, Pa. When: 1:30 p.m. Series record: Thomas More leads, 6-1. Scouting report: Westminster is coming off a 27-14 win over Saint Vincent that snapped a nine-game road losing streak, while Thomas More rolled past Waynesburg, 47-24. Trevor Young, Westminster’s sophomore kicker, was booted a pair of field goals of 42 and 21 yards and was 3-for-3 in extra-point attempts. He named the PAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Westminster also was led by senior QB Kevin Franz and senior RB Nick McKolosky. Franz completed 15 of 19 passes for 167 yards and two TDs McKolosky had 121 yards rushing in a career-high 31 rushing attempts and one TD. He also caught three passes for 26 yards and a TD. Thiel (1-2) vs. Geneva (2-0)

Where: Reeves Field, Beaver Falls, Pa. When: 7 p.m. Series record: Geneva leads, 22-10-3. Scouting report: Thiel was rocked by Washington & Jefferson, 56-16, last week while Geneva was idle after beating Saint Vincent on Sept. 12. Thiel was no match for W&J on offense, being outgained by the Presidents 537-231 yards. Brendan Taylor scored Thiel’s first TD on a 48-yard scoring pass from Willie Bova. Sophomore RB Ross Gargano got Thiel’s other TD on a 2 -yard run that was the Tomcats’ first rushing TD of the season. Placekicker John Madeline (Hubbard) kicked a 44-yard FG in the third quarter to cap Thiel’s scoring. LB Ryan Dawes had another strong defensive game for the Tomcats with a team-best 7.5 tackles. Washington & Jefferson (3-0, 1-0 PAC) vs. Grove City (1-2, 1-0 PAC)

Where: Robert E. Thorn Field, Grove City, Pa. When: 7 p.m. Series record: Washington & Jefferson leads, 32-12. Scouting report: Washington & Jefferson sailed past Thiel last week, 56-16, while Grove City thumped Bethany, 35-14. W&J senior WR Craig Besong caught nines passes for 139 yards and one TD, and was named the PAC Offensive Player of the Week. Meanwhile, Grove City’s defense intercepted a season-high four passes against Bethany, including two in the fourth quarter from Randy Santina, who also had a team-high seven tackles. Santini was named PAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Malone (1-1) vs. Anna Maria (0-3)

Where: AMCAT Field, Paxton, Mass. When: 1 p.m. Series records: First game: Anna Maria is in its first year of intercollegiate football, as a member of NCAA Division III. Scouting report: Malone had a bye last week after losing to St. Ambrose at home on Sept. 12, 34-14. Anna Maria is coming off a road loss to Husson (Maine) College last week. Malone redshirt freshman QB Steve Brohl has completed 44 of 80 pass attempts for 532 yards and five TDs with two interceptions. Brohl’s average of 266 passing yards per game ranks No. 1 in the Mid-States Football Association and No. 9 in the NAIA.

Walsh (2-1) vs. Urbana (2-2)

Where: Blue Knight Field, Urbana. When: Noon. Series record: Walsh leads, 13-1. Scouting report: Walsh defeated Ohio Dominican University last Saturday, 23-16, while Urbnana was outlasted by Tusculum University at home, 45-35. Junior RB Clinton Blossomgame rushed for 226 yards and two TDs in Walsh’s win over Ohio Dominican. Blossomgame leads the MSFA in rushing and is No. 4 in the NAIA. Hiram (2-0) vs. Carnegie Mellon (0-2)

Where: Charles A. Henry Field, Hiram. When: 1 p.m. Series record: Carnegie Mellon leads, 19-5. Scouting report: This is homecoming weekend for Hiram. The Terriers are looking for their first win after losing to Kenyon, 45-27, at home last Saturday in an NCAC opener. Carnegie Mellon, after winning its first two games, lost last week against Hobart College, 25-16, in Geneva, N.Y. Indiana (Pa.) (3-1, 0-1 PSAC West) vs. Slippery Rock (3-1, 0-1)

Where: DiSpirito Field at Thompson Stadium, Slippery Rock, Pa. When: 7 pm. Series record: Indiana leads, 47-34-2. Scouting report: Slippery Rock was overcome by Edinboro’s late rally, 28-24, last week. The Rock was unable to stop the Fighting Scots’ 80-yard drive in 70 seconds led by Trevor Harris, a two-time PSAC-West “Offensive Player of the Year.” Indiana, meanwhile, committed five turnovers and lost to Mercyhurst, 20-16. Allegheny (2-0) vs. Oberlin (0-2)

Where: Savage Stadium, Oberlin. When: 1 p.m. Series record: Allegheny leads, 24-18-1. Scouting report: Allegheny is coming off a 27-14 win over Westminster. The Gators’ Kyle Wilson returned a pass interception 57 yards to his first TD of the season in the first half — the Titans’ final TD of the game— to seal the win. Wilson also made three tackles, including a sack for a loss of 9 yards, and had two pass breakups. He was named NCAC Defensive Player of the Week.
