Falls beats Harding in 3 games
NEWTON FALLS — Junior Destiny Prusky had 11 kills, six blocks, one ace and 12 points, to lead Newton Falls High past Warren Harding, 25-17, 25-16, 25-16, in a volleyball match on Wednesday.
Sophomore setter Lindsay Brockway had 13 assists, 15 points and one ace and junior hitter/blocker Tori Milani had 13 kills, seven points and one ace for Newton Falls (2-10).
As of Tuesday, Prusky was third-ranked in kills in the state, according to Ohio Volleyball Coaches Association statistics.
JVs: Harding 16-25, 25-12, 25-21.
Mathews 25-27-25, Warren JFK 17-25-22
WARREN — Jonna Omerzo recorded 34 digs, while Julie Wise had 15 points and four aces to lead Mathews (11-0) past Warren JFK. Kayla Mand added 21 assists while Megan O’Dell chipped in with eight kills and three blocks. Jessie Gearhart also had three blocks for the Mustangs.
For JFK (8-6), Mara Steines had seven kills,14 points and five blocks, Kim Sylvester seven kills and 14 points and Kelsie Massacci four aces and 40 digs to lead the way. Also, Madeline Wilson had 10 assists.
Hoover 25-25-25, Fitch 9-12-14
AUSTINTOWN — Jenn Soehnlen scored 17 points and added 18 assists while Kate Wheeler came up with 13 kills and eight blocks as North Canton Hoover (10-3, 6-0 Federal League) toppled Fitch (2-9, 1-6).
The Falcons were led by Chrissy Volsko with six digs, while Brittany Weidenthal added two aces and Colleen Hurdley had three blocks.
JVs: Hoover 25-15, 25-18.

CHAMPION — Jessica Nicholas had 17 kills and seven blocks, while Olivia Wood added 13 kills, nine points and two aces to lead the Flashes (7-4) on Tuesday.
Leah Nicholas added 14 digs and three aces, while Lindsey Cerimele had 16 digs and 14 assists. LaBrae is 7-6.
