Fall harvest home show comes to Eastwood Expo

NILES — The Home Builders/Remodelers Association of Mahoning Valley will hold the Fall 2009 HBA Home & Harvest Show this weekend at the Eastwood Expo Center. The show will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Complimentary tickets are available at www.hbamv.org or at Nemenz IGA and Save-A-Lot stores. More than 70 booths will display products for the home. Any contractor or vendor interested in setting up a display should contact HBA.

Computer market recovers

SAN FRANCISCO — The worldwide personal-computer market is pulling out of its slump quickly and could defy predictions by growing this year, Intel Corp. CEO Paul Otellini said Tuesday.

Otellini’s comments at a conference Tuesday were more bullish than many analysts have been. Market research firms IDC and Gartner have both predicted a year-over-year decline in PC shipments in 2009, which would be the first such drop since 2001.

Hummer headquarters

DETROIT — The Chinese company that’s in the running to buy Hummer from General Motors Co. likely will locate the brand’s corporate headquarters near Detroit, a spokesman said Tuesday.

It will employ about 100 people at the headquarters with plans to grow that to 300.
