Homemade apple butter to be featured at festival

YOUNGSTOWN — Park Vista Retirement Community will have its 37th annual Apple Butter Festival from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at 1216 Fifth Ave. Admission is free.

Hand stirred apple butter will be made over an open fire and available for sale. Apple cider, popcorn, cotton candy, hot apple dumplings, ice cream and hot dogs will be available.

The Castle County Cloggers will perform at 12:30 p.m. and there will be entertainment from 1 to 2:30 p.m. by the Jim Frank Trio. Grotto clowns will be on hand, and there will be children’s crafts and contests, a trash and treasure sale, and a raffle for a side of beef.
