Ohio anti-casino group questions access to ad

COLUMBUS (AP) — Opponents of a ballot issue that would legalize casinos in four Ohio cities accuse the plan’s backers of getting an inappropriate advance peek at their latest television attack ad.

TruthPAC says there’s no other way the pro-casino group could have gotten details about the ad referenced in a cease-and-desist letter sent Friday.

Don McTigue, the Ohio Jobs & Growth Committee attorney, says the ad’s claim that casino owners are recruiting workers from out of state is false and misleading, and that a classified newspaper ad shown in the TV spot wasn’t placed by the casino campaign.

TruthPAC lawyer Luther Liggett Jr. replied Monday with a letter saying the ad is “100 percent accurate and truthful” and questioning how McTigue knew what was in the TV spot.
