Mooney ranked first in Div. III in AP poll

Cardinal Mooney (4-0) earned 23 of 29 possible first-place votes to take over first place in Division III in the latest statewide AP poll.

Poland (4-0) is ranked third in Div. III behind Steubenville, which garnered five first-place votes.

In Div. I, Fitch (4-0), fresh off a win over Canton McKinley, is 14th.

Howland (4-0), which defeated Canfield last Friday, is eighth in Div. II and Canfield is 19th.

Girard (4-0) is tied for seventh in Div. IV and Lakeview (which fell to Poland on Friday) is 15th.

East Palestine, which improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1988, garnered one first-place vote and is third. Crestview (4-0) is 10th and Ursuline (2-2) is 12th.

In Division VI, McDonald is 11th, Western Reserve is 14th and Wellsville is 18th. All are 4-0. McDonald and Wellsville play this Friday.
