BINGO, CARD PARTIES

• St. Brendan Altar & Rosary Society is sponsoring its annual Fall Bingo and Card Party at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in Maxwell Hall (enter from back parking lot), 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown. Admission is $5 and includes lunch.

• St. Patrick Church Altar and Rosary Society will have a card and bingo party at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the church hall, Main Street, Hubbard. The donation will be $5 at the door and will include a light lunch, table and door prizes, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle.

CRAFT SHOWS

• Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, is accepting crafters and vendors for a craft show scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17. An 8-foot table can be rented for $20. The show will be advertised and in an air conditioned hall. • Craft vendors are invited to participate in a craft show to be sponsored by St. Jude Women’s Guild from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at St. Jude Activity Center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. • Stan Hywet Needlework Guild will present a needlework show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 1-4 at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, 714 N. Portage Path, Akron. Crafters may submit entries for the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. FESTIVALS

• St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will have a Ukrainian festival from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free. Featured will be Ukrainian dancers, music by Jack Vasko Orchestra, basket auction, raffles, children’s activities, and Ukrainian and religious arts and crafts. Food offerings will include pirogi, kolbasi and sauerkraut, borscht, holupki, haluski and more, including baked goods and Ukrainian beer.

FUNDRAISERS

• T.N.R. of Warren will conduct an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fritsch Veterinary Clinic, 200 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren. There will be a pumpkin, mum, cornstalk, bake, craft and yard sale, a Chinese auction, games and refreshments. Kittens and cats may be available for adoption. SALES

• Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, will host a rummage sale. Shoppers will be able to fill a brown paper bag for $4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 3. A bag full will be $1 from noon until 2 p.m. Oct. 3. Large items are priced separately. There will also be a bake sale and a lunch bar.

• Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will have its semiannual trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. No clothing. Lunch will be available. • Northeast Ohio Labrador Retriever Rescue will sponsor a Puppy Palooza from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 at Liberty Park in North Jackson. There will be games, food, adoptable dogs, vendors, a Chinese auction and photos of your pet. There will also be free goodie bags for the first 50 attending. Friendly dogs are welcome. TRIPS

• Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will sponsor a daylong bus trip to four Columbus area gardens on Wednesday. There will be stops at Franklin Park Conservatory and the Topiary Parks, where George Seurat’s painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of Las Grand Jette” has been recreated in living plants. After lunch the tourists will visit the Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens at Ohio State University, followed by a stop at Inniswood Metro Gardens and the three-acre Sisters Garden. Dinner will be at the historic Malabar Farm Restaurant. The cost is $85 ($75 for Friends members) and includes admissions, transportation, lunch and dinner.
