The anniversary event began with a weekend Community Day earlier this summer.
STAFF REPORT
YOUNGSTOWN — The Center for Community Empowerment, 1420 Dogwood Lane, in the Rockford Village housing complex, will complete its 10th-year anniversary celebration, with a dinner-dance from 6 to 11 p.m. Oct. 2 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Banquet Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave.
Tickets are available at $35 per person.
The center, a faith-based social-service agency that works to meet the needs of residents in the Rockford area, will honor 10 people who have had a positive impact on the public housing complex and the center.
The center kicked off its anniversary with Community Day activities July 31 and Aug. 1. The activities included 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, carnival rides, food, various vendors and prizes.
The Rev. Willie F. Peterson, center executive director, said the center is seeking community, corporate and individual sponsors who will partner with CCE as gold, silver, bronze and individual sponsors.
Gold sponsorship is $3,500; silver, $2,000; and bronze, $1,000.
A community-partner package is $300, and includes a table for eight guests and a half-page ad included in the center’s souvenir booklet.
The funds raised will be used to increase staff capacity and buy state-mandated playground equipment for the center’s day-care children, the Rev. Mr. Peterson added.
The deadline for ad sponsorship is Friday. Make checks payable to CCE. All donations are tax-deductible.
For more information regarding the October fundraiser, what is included in the gold, bronze and silver packages, ad prices for the souvenir booklet, and the programs and services the center provides, contact Mr. Peterson or the Rev. J. Dwayne Heard at (330) 740-1982.
