The indictment list included people accused of murder and homicide.

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury indicted 33 people this week, including those implicated in two separate deaths in the city.

Charles Floyd, 33, of Bennington Street; his sister, Cicely Floyd, 31, of Dogwood Lane; and their mother, Marie Floyd, 51, of Buckeye Court, have been indicted on charges of aggravated murder and illegal possession of a firearm in the murder of Ramon Echevestre earlier this month.

According to city police, Echevestre’s death on Sept. 5 was the result of a domestic dispute that escalated. Witnesses said Charles Floyd was beating his girlfriend. Echevestre and his girlfriend, a sister of the woman being beaten, came to the home where the beating was taking place.

Police said that Echevestre and Charles Floyd exchanged words and then got into a fight, which Echevestre won. Then Charles Floyd, accompanied by his mother and sister, said he was leaving to get his gun and would be back. Later, the three returned, and the suspect began firing from a parking lot.

Police said at least six children were at the scene during the shooting.

Echevestre ran into the house followed by Charles Floyd, who caught him in the kitchen and reportedly shot him several times at the back door, where police found Echevestre lying in the doorway.

According to court papers, Charles Floyd had been convicted of illegal possession of cocaine and should not have been in possession of a firearm.

Scott Johnson, 37, of Ascot Court, was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, driving under the influence and driving under suspension.

Johnson is accused of being the driver of a car in which Robert L. Killing Jr., 52, of Henn-Hyde Road, Howland, was killed. He was a passenger in the front seat of Johnson’s car.

The accident happened on Robinson Road in Campbell in early July. Two witnesses told police that Johnson’s car was speeding west on Robinson and struck a vehicle that was stopped to turn at Robinson and 12th streets.

Johnson continued on Robinson past the intersection, losing control on a curve while going down a hill. The car went off the road and hit the side wall of the Ultimate Club at 56 Robinson Road.
